Just received today a pair of the Kitanica All Season Pants in Multicam Black. I have to admit the Multicam Black has grown on me. The pants are simply stunning. I’m a bit of a Kitanica fanboy mainly because their pants fit my frame almost tailored. These are my first pair of utility pants from Kitanica so be on the lookout for a full review soon.

There aren’t many clothing companies left in the USA but hidden in Oakland is one of my favorite US made clothing companies, Kitanica. While in the Bay area I just had to stop by and see their inner workings.

Highlander this time..must have
So far all the pants I own from them have been both of awesome quality and fit. I can only expect perfection if and when they release their own jeans. Eagerly standing by…
Quick comparison for those who’ve been asking.
Both pants are very well made (as expected from Patagonia and Crye Precision).
Notable differences:
Knee pads: The Patagonia VIKP knee pads utilize “pull the dot” snaps which basically means you can only snap and unsnap them via a single direction. This helps prevent unwanted pad removal. The Crye Airflex slip into place and uses Velcro to secure. I find the VIKPs to be more comfortable and less cumbersome.
No rear pockets on the Patagonia pants. This forces you to carry your wallet in the front pockets. No adjustable waist and inseam on the Patagonia either. You will also find that the Patagonias (annoyingly) have a button fly. Easy to undo but a pain in the ass to rebutton especially with a Velcro waistband. Crye uses a Velcro waistband but with a zippered fly.
Overall fit and sizing:
Both pants are “high waisted” which basically means you don’t sag like casual pants, some people aren’t used to wearing pants properly so it may come to a surprise. The Patagonias are much more true to size and I believe fit better.

This is a sweet looking jacket. If it’s anything like other items from Kitanica I own, it’s more than worth the asking price.

I have a pair in Khaki and love them to death. I hope they also release them in black. That ranger green is mighty tempting though…
By far one of the BEST pants I’ve ever worn. Perfect fit and finish. I will be adding one of these into my collection.
